The Bible is God’s written plan of redemption. The book of Exodus (Shemot in Hebrew) is an important portion of that redemption story. In this class, we will study how God brought His covenant people, Israel, from slavery to freedom, from oppression to victory, from Egypt to the Promised Land.
We will see that this path of redemption is laid out before Israel in prophecy. God spoke to Abraham about redeeming his progeny from oppression. Joseph later prophesied to his brethren that God would remember them and deliver them from bondage. Then in Exodus, the Lord gave Moses almost the same words of deliverance to assure Israel that the time had come.
We will witness God’s glory once again entering the realm of Earth in the form of a burning bush. And we will see how God’s redeeming hand is still affecting us today.
